The 28-year-old Brazilian was out of contract with Xamax, and despite being linked with moves to Servette FC and FC St. Gallen the player decided to accept an offer from the Berne club. Leandro scored 17 goals last season, finishing as fifth highest scorer in the Swiss Nationalliga A.
