Article body
FK Zeljeznicar joined Bosnia-Herzegovnian Premier League leaders FK Leotar on 79 points at the head of the standings with a narrow 1-0 home win against FK Borac.
Tight at the top
The victory, coupled with Leotar's 2-1 defeat at NK Široki Brijeg enabled Zeljeznicar to move level at the top, although Leotar retained the league leadership thanks to a better goal difference.
Crucial goal
A 28th-minute goal from Alen Bajkuša proved to be enough for Zeljeznicar, while Leotar took the lead through a 53rd-minute Nenad Stojanovic goal. Široki Brijeg drew level three minutes later as Mirko Hrgovic converted a penalty, before Miroslav Dujomivic scored what proved to be the winning goal six minutes past the hour.
Velez relegated
At the bottom of the table, FK Velez will join FK Bosna, FK Mladost Gacko and FK Buducnost Banovici in the second division next season after losing 3-1 at home to FK Sarajevo.
Džabic suspended
Meanwhile, referee Sreto Džabic has been banned from officiating for a year by the Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Federation's (NSBiH) Disciplinary Committee ruled that he had no grounds for cancelling last week's match between Buducnost and NK Zepce. Džabic claimed he had been physically attacked by Buducnost's Almir Husanovic, but his statement could not be proved. In the replayed game, Zepce deated Buducnost 3-2.
Friendly tournament
The NSBiH will organize the "Tournament of Peace and Friendship 2003" between 20 and 25 May, which will include Under-17 teams from the former Yugoslavia. The participants are the first choice sides of Bosnia-Herzegovina, F.Y.R. Macedonia and Serbia and Montenegro in Group A, while Group B will be made up of the second choice lineups from Bosnia, Slovenia and Croatia. The tournament will be played in Tuzla, Banovići, Ugljevik and Srebrenik, and will be the first international tournament to take place in Bosnia.
