Article body
Committed to the cause
Midfield player Kaiafas, an influential figure in the club's title success, was not the only player to commit himself to Omonia, as striker Vesko Mihajlovic also agreed a new deal.
European goal
With coach Toni Savevski stating that he too will be at the GSP stadium for at least another season, Omonia will now turn their attentions to tying up striker Rainer Rauffmann and midfield man Haris Nicolaou on longer-term contracts. The club hope to have a squad in place to take them into the UEFA Champions League group stages - they will play in the competition's qualifying rounds in August.
Ins and outs
Elsewhere in Division A, APOEL Nicosia FC, who were third in the final standings, have signed Cypriot international defender Christos Germanos from Apollon Limassol FC. Meanwhile, Cypriot Cup winners and UEFA Cup challengers Anorthosis Famagusta FC have released Dutch defender Marvin Brunswijk and Yugoslavian midfield player Dejan Mitrovic. Both players were out of contract.
