Article body
Sporting Lokeren St-Niklaas Waasland guaranteed third place in the Belgian First Division and a place in next season's UEFA Cup despite slipping to a 2-1 defeat at K. Lierse SK.
Late winner
The match seemed set to end in a 1-1 draw with Stijn Haeldermans on target for the home side while Marel Baldvinsson scored for Lokeren, who lost Mamadou Coulibali to a red card five minutes from time for a foul on Kirstof Imschoot. Jonas De Roeck scored the winning goal in the final minute.
Sint-Truiden slip up
Lokeren sealed third place as K. Sint Truidense VV were unable to take advantage of their defeat, drawing 2-2 against local rivals KRC Genk. Bram van Geel gave Sint-Truiden the lead early in the second half, but two Wesley Sonck goals seemed to have earned Genk all three points only for Bram van Geel to salvage a point for the home side two minutes from time.
Brugge draw
Champions Club Brugge KV drew 1-1 at home to KFC Germinal Beerschot, taking the lead in the fifth minute through a header from Sandy Martens, but Kwame Quansah equalised just two minutes later.
Penalty winner
Second-placed RSC Anderlecht were 1-0 winners at home against RAA Louviéroise, with Nenad Jestrovic converting a penalty he had won himself after being brought down by Domenico Olivieri for the only goal of the game.
Delen delight
KVC Westerlo were 4-0 winners at R. Excelsior Mouscron, with Jef Delen scoring all four goals, while KV Mechelen were defeated 2-0 at R. Antwerp FC, with goals at the start and the end of the match from Tony Sergeant, who headed in a Patrick Goots free-kick, and Ibrahima Yattara deciding the outcome.
Heavy defeat
Elsewhere, KAA Gent suffered a heavy 5-0 home defeat at the hands of R. Standard de Liège, with Michael Goossens scoring twice and Johan Walem, Jonathan Walasiak and Gonzague Vandooren once each. The match between R. Charleroi SC and KSK Beveren ended goalless, while R. AEC Mons did not play as they were scheduled to take on KFC Lommelse SK, who have already been demoted.
