RSC Anderlecht were defeated 3-0 at KSK Beveren on the final day of the Belgian First Division season.

RSC Anderlecht were defeated 3-0 at KSK Beveren on the final day of the Belgian First Division season.

Early setback
With champions Club Brugge KV not playing as their scheduled match against KFC Lommelse SK was called off, Anderlecht missed the chance to move to within five points of  the top of the table as Venance Zezeto scored the first goal after ten minutes, converting an assist from Constant Kipre Kaiper.

Decisive goals
Kaiper also created a second goal two minutes before half-time as Gilles Yapi Yapo made the score 2-0, before Kristof Lardinoit rounded off the victory 13 minutes from time with a fine lob.

Lokeren finish third
Sporting Lokeren St-Niklaas Waaslan finished in third place and will play in the qualifying rounds of next season's UEFA Cup, ending with a 0-0 draw at home to K. Sint Truidense VV. In a tight game of few chances, Peter Delorge and Arnar Gretarsson were both sent off in the 65th minute.

Genk fourth
KRC Genk were 3-1 winners at home to KAA Gent, despite falling behind to a David Van Hoyweghen header from Gunther Schepens's 26th-minute corner. Moumouni Daganao headed the home side level from Koen Daerden's left-wing cross a minute before half-time, and Wesley Sonck gave Genk the lead nine minutes into the second period, converting a spot-kick he had won himself before Kevin Vandenbergh added a third.

Away victory
K. Lierse SK were 2-1 winners away to KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen, with goals from Adolph Tohoua and Bjorn De Wilde either side of Steven Cooreman's equaliser sealing the victory, while R. Antwerp FC also enjoyed an away win, as goals from Arthur Gomez, Patrick Goots and Zoran Libinkovic secured a 3-1 victory at R. Standard de Liège.

Closing win
Relegated KV Mechelen ended with a 3-2 victory at home to R. Excelsior Mouscron with two first-half strikes from Steven Depaux giving them a two-goal cushion and, although goals from Bastien Chantry and Claude Bakadal in the 70th and 73rd minutes brought Mouscron level, a Simon Valgaerts effort three minutes from time gave Mechelen a final-day win.

Perfect preparation
R. Charleroi SC drew 1-1 at KVC Westerlo, and a goal from midfield player Alan Haydock on the stroke of half-time gave RAA Louviéroise the perfect preparation for next Sunday’s Belgian Cup final as they defeated R. AEC Mons 1-0.
