CSF Zimbru Chisinau ensured they finished second in the Moldovan First Division with a 3-0 home win against FC Nistru Otachi.
Final repeat
Zimbru overcame Nistru on penalties to win the Moldovan Cup in midweek and this time were able to claim victory in 90 minutes as Vladimir Shishelov opened the scoring on 57 minutes, and struck the third in added time after Viorel Frunza claimed the second.
UEFA Cup entrants
Nistru's Valentin Lupascu and Serghey Lascencov were sent off in each half along with Zimbru's Serghey Dodul and Danial Balasa. However, with Nistru confirmed in third place, both will enter the UEFA Cup.
Intertoto race
The race for fourth place and a UEFA Intertoto Cup slot remains open after FC Agro Chisinau lost 2-1 to FC Dacia Chisinau and FC Tiraspol drew 4-4 with FC Sheriff Tiraspol. Vladimir Japalau scored both goals for Agro, who will end the season in sixth, while Tiraspol's Ruslan Barburos - who started the season with Sheriff - scored twice to deny the champions victory. With two games to go, Dacia are four points ahead of Tiraspol.
Promotion issues
Bottom side FC Politechnika Chisinau, who were not in action, will meet second division runners-up FC Unisport-Auto Chisinau for a place in next season's top flight. FC Tiligul Tiraspol are back in the First Division a season after relegation after winning the second division.
