Post denies Ireland
In hot conditions, Ireland had the better of the game, but were unable to follow up their opening 6-0 victory against Bosnia-Herzegovina as they hit the post three times. Croatia, who won the group's only other game 1-0 in Bosnia, held on for a point which keeps them second behind Ireland.
Romanian test
Ireland, who are set to travel to Salt Late City to face world champions the United States in their next game, are back in group action at home to Romania on 28 June, but will be without striker Olivia O'Toole, who was booked against Croatia and is suspended. Croatia's next opponents are Malta on 28 September.
