Uljanik spring another surprise

HNK Hajduk Split will take on second division NK Uljanik in the Croatian Cup final.

HNK Hajduk Split moved through to the Croatian Cup final after a 0-0 draw with NK Varteks in the second leg of their semi-final to earn a 2-0 aggregate success.

Hajduk chances
Hajduk began defensively as they sought to protect their two-goal first-leg advantage, but still created the better chances, with lone forward Petar Krpan twice going close either side of half-time.

Pletikosa pressed into action
The home side pressed forward in search of a route back into the tie but Hajduk, with goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa in inspired form, held firm. Pletikosa produced his most important save to keep out an Ivan Jolic effort from near the penalty spot with his feet, and Hajduk held on to earn their final place.

Uljanik upset
In the second semi-final, second-division side NK Uljanik caused another huge upset, eliminating top-flight NK Kamen Ingrad Velika 5-1 on aggregate. Kamen Ingrad were favourites to progress having earned a 1-1 draw in the first leg, but goals from Milan Zivkovic in the 25th and 65th minutes helped put Uljanik in control, before late strikes sealed a famous 4-0 win.
