The away team, who had claimed they were not coming to defend before the game, were put under pressure from the start. Visiting goalkeeper Ivica Maric fouled Ivica Olic on 32 mintues to concede a penalty, and the same player stepped up to score. Olic claimed a second in the 62nd minute, and he then crossed for Dumitru Mitu to score the third goal a quarter-hour from the end.
