FC Porto moved another step closer to the Portuguese title following a 2-1 victory against Moreirense FC.
Own-goal opener
The runaway Super Liga leaders had to wait until just before half-time to take the lead through an own goal from Sérgio Lomba. César Peixoto doubled the advantage in the second half from the penalty spot after a foul on Hélder Postiga. Moreirense striker Demetrios then reduced the arrears.
Narrow margin
SL Benifca overcame Varzim SC by a narrow 2-1 margin, with defender Argel putting the second-placed side into the lead from a Geovanni corner. Former Benfica midfield player Rui Baião equalised with a shot from 20 metres but Tiago secured victory with a chip over goalkeeper Miguel. Benifca were then reduced to ten men when Petit was sent off.
Rossato double
Vitória Guimarães defeated CF Os Belenenses 1-0, with the only goal being scored by former Belenenses winger Guga, heading in from close range. Brazilian midfield player Rossato scored both goals as CD Nacional won 2-1 at home to CD Santa Clara whose goal came from Ceará.
First win in six
Sporting Clube de Portugal recorded their first win in six games with a 3-0 victory over CS Marítimo. Facundo Quiroga put the home side ahead with a header before Ricardo Sá Pinto added a second from the penalty spot. Vitaly Kutuzov completed the scoring after a fine move involving César Prates and Ricardo Quaresma.
Penalty decider
Ten-man FC Paços de Ferreira gained revenge against their Portuguese Cup conquers UD Leiria, in a 1-0 win, with a penalty from Serginho. Silas and Márcio Santos then both missed from the penalty spot for Leiria before Luís Miguel was sent off in the last minute.
Controversial end
Boavista FC lost 1-0 at Gil Vicente FC with José Gaspar breaking the deadlock just before half-time. The game ended in controversy with two Boavista players, Pedro Santos and Filipe Anunciação, and Gil Vicente's Nuno Amaro each receiving red cards.
Quick-fire goals
SC Beira-Mar and SC Braga drew 2-2, with the away side taking the lead through winger Wender only for Senegalese striker Fary Faye to score two quick-fire goals. His first came on 23 minutes and two minutes later he put the home side ahead. However, just moments into the second half Wender scored his second of the game.
Second home win
Vitória Setúbal celebrated only their second home win of the season with a 3-1 win over Associação Académica de Coimbra who took the lead through Romanian midfield player Lucian Marinescu. Nélson's low shot from the edge of the area brought the scores level. Jorge Celino then put the home side ahead before Jorginho made the points secure with the third goal.
