Article body
KRC Genk technical director Robert Raes has resigned after falling out with chairman Jos Vaessen over transfer policy.
Chairman dispute
The Belgian champions are in sixth position, and currently out of the European qualification places for next season. Raes, credited with much of last season's success, said he wanted to leave yesterday, three days after the club's latest defeat, 3-0 at the hands of RSC Anderlecht.
Support for coach
Vaessen has given his backing to coach Sef Vergoossen although he claimed that everyone at the club must share responsibility. "Everyone is to blame for this, certainly the board also," he said. "Maybe the main conclusion we must make is that we urgently need to find a technical manager for Genk."
