Article body
Muscle strain
The Portuguese international, who broke his foot on the first day of the season, strained a muscle in his right leg in the first half of Sunday's 2-1 victory against Real Sociedad. Tests have ruled him out for at least three weeks, and he will miss crucial games including Saturday's visit to FC Barcelona.
Key man
Andrade, who returned to action in January, has been a key figure in Deportivo's surge up the Primera División table, the win against Real taking the club into second place. His injury means Deportivo coach Javier Irureta has major defensive problems before the Barça match, with Nourredine Naybet, César Martín, Donato Gama and Goran Djorovic all injured.
European experience
Andrade, 25 tomorrow, played four times for Deportivo in the second group stage of the UEFA Champions League but was unable to help them through a tough section including Manchester United FC, Juventus FC and FC Basel. The €13m summer signing from FC Porto was a member of Portugal's squad at the 2002 FIFA World Cup finals.
