Blazevski replaces Ilija Matenicarov who was sacked for missing the team's 1-0 home win against FK Napredok at the weekend. "Matenicarov should have led the team on Sunday but didn't show up at the stadium," Belasica director Bobi Todorov said. "I don't know the reasons why he was absent. Pane Blazevski is therefore the new head coach starting today. His assistants will be named later."
Sick note
Matenicarov said that he called club president Vanco Takovski hours before the game to tell him he was ill and could not be present. "I was ill on Sunday and that's why I was absent," he insisted. "I told the president I wasn't feeling too well."
Belasica old boy
Blazevski played for Belasica in the 1980s and returns to the club from Second Division side FK Alumina. Belasica currently have a two-point lead over FK Vardar in the Prva Liga title race.
