Ards FC fought out a goalless draw against visitors Crusaders FC in the Irish League Premier Division tonight.

Spiers off
The home side had to settle for a point despite the 55th-minute dismissal of Crusaders' central defender Jeff Spiers for his second booking in quick succession. Crusaders had been the better team in the first half, with Alan Murphy firing a one-on-one opportunity over while Paul Muir saw his header come back off the cross bar.

Connolly save
The best chance for Ards came in the final minute when David Scullion's volley was well saved by Crues keeper John Connolly. Ards still have two games in hand on the teams above them but are now unlikely to make it into the top six before the Premier Division splits in two after 33 matches.
