Greece round-up: Panathinaikos power on

Olisadebe on target
Despite the absence of Nikos Lyberopoulos, Joonas Kolkka, Giorgios Karagounis, Sotirios Kyrgiakos and Panagiotis Fyssas, Panathinaikos were untroubled by their struggling opponents and took a fifth-minute lead through Pantelis Konstantinidis's close-range effort. Emmanuel Olisadebe made sure of victory 16 minutes later when he converted a Jan Michaelsen cross.

Ofori Quaye at the double
Second-placed Olympiakos Piraeus FC kept pace with their city rivals as they beat Proodeftiki FC 3-1 - a sixth straight win. Olympiakos went ahead on 19 minutes through Nery Alberto Castillo. But the visitors had to wait until the closing stages to secure the points, Ghanaian international striker Peter Oforiquaye scoring on 80 and 86 minutes to render Alekos Tatsis's late strike for Proodeftiki a consolation.

Ivic the hero
AEK Athens FC are up to third place, nine points behind Panathinaikos, after a 3-1 home triumph against OFI Crete FC. Vassilios Lakis and Ilija Ivic put AEK in control with goals shortly after half-time, and while Mauricio Solis reduced the deficit for OFI, Ivic grabbed his second and AEK's third with a header in stoppage time.

Akratitos hopes boosted
FC PAOK Thessaloniki dropped to fourth place following a 1-1 draw against struggling Akratitos FC. Nikos Iordanidis denied the hosts at the Gipedo Toumbas stadium, equalising a goal from PAOK's Nikos Froussos. Panionios GS moved level on points with PAOK as goals from Vangelis Mantzios and Christos Kontis sealed a 2-1 success at PAS Giannina FC.

Ionikos held
Elsewhere, Aris Thessaloniki FC won 2-0 at Xanthi FC and Iraklis FC's 2-1 home victory over Egaleo FC saw them leapfrog OFI into seventh place. Ionikos FC and Kallithea GS shared the spoils in the weekend's other fixture, Socratis Ofrydopoulos' 32nd-minute strike cancelling out Giannis Tatsis' opener for Kallithea.
