Amica welcome back Majewski

Poor form
The 47-year-old was unveiled as the new man at the helm on Tuesday and takes over from Miroslaw Jablonski, who paid the price for a poor run of results.

Past success
Majewski returns to the club where he twice won the Polish Cup and Polish Super Cup during a two-year spell between April 1999 and May 2001. He was subsequently replaced by current Polish national coach Pawel Janas, who then made way for Jablonski after only a handful of matches.

Cup exit
The Amica board moved to replace Jablonski after Saturday's 2-2 league draw with Wisla Plock which followed a disappointing Polish Cup defeat by Second Division side ZKS Polar Wroclaw. Amica lost a two-goal lead against Plock and had to settle for a solitary point, their first in three games since the winter break.

International class
More recently, Majewski coached Zaglebie Lubin and was Zbigniew Boniek's assistant during the former Juventus FC foward's reign as national coach last year.

High hopes
Amica had high hopes for the 2002/03 season after winning a place in the UEFA Cup last term. However, they were knocked out of that tournament by Málaga CF in the second round, and have since struggled to make an impact in the Ekstraklasa. The club are in ninth position in the table with 22 points from 18 games - just three points off the relegation places.
