Bitter cup
Tests today showed that the former Manchester City FC player tore a thigh muscle during Sochaux's League Cup quarter-final win against Lille OSC last week. He has been ordered to rest for six weeks.
Semi-final date
His absence is a blow to Sochaux coach Guy Lacombe whose side are in seventh place in the Ligue 1 table, four points behind a UEFA Cup qualifying berth. They also have a League Cup semi-final against FC Metz to look forward to next month.
English experience
Charvet joined Sochaux on a six-month contract in January after he was released by Man. City. He previously played for AS Cannes, Newcastle United FC and Chelsea FC.
