Gunnlaugsson twins reunited at KR

Twin brothers Bjarki and Arnar Bergmann Gunnlaugsson have joined Icelandic champions KR Reykjavík.

Twin strikers
The two strikers, who turned 30 at the beginning of March, started their careers playing together at ÍA Akranes before moving on in tandem to Feyenoord and German club 1. FC Nürnberg. In 1995, they both rejoined ÍA and led the way as the club took the Icelandic title, before going their separate ways towards the end of the decade.

Arnar's saga
Arnar Bergmann's last contract was with Dundee United FC in Scotland, after many years in European football which also saw him play for FC Sochaux Montbéliard in France and English sides Leicester City FC and Bolton Wanderers FC. He has won 31 caps for Iceland in a career frequently put on hold through injury.

Bjarki's career
Bjarki, meanwhile, joined Norwegian side SK Brann after leaving ÍA for a second time, and has already played for KR, having spent the 1999/00 season there. He made 13 appearances for Iceland, scoring two goals, but has not played an international game since 2000.
