Article body
Ligament injury
The big centre-back could be sidelined until mid-May after tests revealed that he tore ligaments in his right knee during Monday's 2-1 league defeat at FK Teplice. With the Czech First Division season due to end on 31 May, Johana will aim to be fit for the last three matches of the campaign. "I hope to play at least the last three rounds of the league," the 26-year-old said.
UEFA Cup ambition
Johana joins a casualty list that includes midfield player Samuel Slovák, who has also succumbed to a serious knee injury. Defending champions Liberec are in fifth place in the 1. liga table, 13 points behind leaders AC Sparta Praha but still in contention for a UEFA Cup qualifying berth.
