Players must be protected
The season will resume on 8 March rather than 1 March after 15 clubs petitioned the LPF. FRF president Mircea Sandu said: "We understand the request of the teams. The pitches are very hard to play on, and the players must also be protected."
TV issues
However, because of television scheduling, the season will still end on 31 May and what was initially scheduled as the 17th round of matches will take place on 8 March, with the 16th round following on 19 March.
