Disappointing match
Former Parma AC and AC Fiorentina left-back Vanoli limped out with a left thigh injury after just three minutes of the 3-2 home defeat by Atalanta BC last Sunday, while Zanchi twisted his right knee in the same match.
More problems
The 31-year-old Vanoli joined Bologna last November after the financial collapse of Fiorentina, while ex-Italian Under-21 international Zanchi is on loan from Juventus FC. Bologna coach Francesco Guidolin has other problems in defence as the former Juventus stopper Michele Paramatti is also doubtful for Sunday's game at Piacenza Calcio with influenza.
Poor form
After starting the season well, Bologna have had a poor run of results taking just one point from the last five Serie A matches and slipping to eighth place in the table. In their last five outings Bologna have conceded eleven goals, the same number they let in during the first 15 games of the campaign.
