Valeri Chetverik is the new coach of Russian newcomers FC Chernomorets Krasnodarskiy Kray.

Valeri Chetverik has been announced as the new coach of Russian newcomers FC Chernomorets Krasnodarskiy Kray.

Quick turnover
The 45-year-old has become the side's third permanent coach since December last year. Hazret Dyshekov was dismissed by the club in December despite leading Chernomorets to promotion, but his initial replacement, Vladimir Shevchuk, left the club after only a few weeks of pre-season training.

KamAZ experience
Caretaker coach Igor Gamula took control of day-to-day affairs, but he has now stepped down to allow Chetverik, who led FC KamAZ-Chally Naberezhnye Chelny in the Russian Premier-Liga between 1993 and 1996, to take charge.

Maverick leader
Something of a one-off in Russian football, Chetverik founded KamAZ himself in 1981, leading them from amateur level to the top division in the Russian footballing pyramid before moving on to work in administrative roles at FC Krylya Sovetov Samara and PFC CSKA Moskva.

Top ten target
Chernomorets chairman Georgi Antonyan has set his new coach a stiff challenge for the next season. "We have signed an experienced, wise and smart specialist," he said. "The contract is designed for two years. The task posed to Chetverik is to finish in top ten. However, we hope top be placed in top seven."
