Better than nothing
Chifon, 27, has joined Katowice on a two-year contract after Pogon decided to release him rather than pay the money they owed him in wages. "I am not exactly delighted at the Katowice offer but it is better than staying at Pogon," Chifon said.
Summer switch
An attacking midfield player or striker, Chifon made 14 appearances for Pogon, the Ekstraklasa's bottom club, after rejoining them last summer from German side 1. FC Union Berlin. Katowice, who are second in the table, also sold striker Krzysztof Gajtkowski to KKS Lech Poznan while bringing a third player, Moussa Yahaya, in on loan from Legia Warszawa.
