Liberec denied Slovák

FC Slovan Liberec's Samuel Slovák will miss three months of action after rupturing knee ligaments.

FC Slovan Liberec's hopes of retaining their Czech title have taken a major blow after midfield player Samuel Slovák was diagnosed with ruptured knee ligaments.

Three months out
The 27-year-old was injured during his side's winter training camp in Cyprus and after undergoing surgery in Bratislava, it was revealed that he was likely to be out of action for at least three months.

Goalscoring form
Capped 16 times for Slovakia, Slovák had scored in the last three rounds of the 1. liga before the winter break and also found the target in the Czech side's 3-2 aggregate defeat against Panathinaikos FC in the third round of the UEFA Cup. Liberec currently lie fourth in the table, ten points behind leaders AC Sparta Praha.
