Article body
Difference of opinion
Alemany, a Barcelona board member for 20 years and one of the club's highest-ranking officials, became the sixth vice-president to quit his post since Gaspart became president in July 2000. Barcelona said Alemany had resigned "because of differences over how to deal with the club's present situation", but added that the 59-year-old businessman would remain in charge of the club's basketball section until the end of the season.
Crisis point
Jesús Farga, a director from the football section, will take Alemany's position as vice-president. The Catalan press reported that Alemany's decision was prompted by Gaspart's refusal to resign his post in the face of the present crisis at the club.
