Irreversible decision
Braga president Fernando Oliveira and the other directors of the club's company board will leave their posts within a month. João Marques, a Braga official, said the decision was "irreversible" and caused by the board's failure to solve the club's financial problems. "They couldn't go on like this," he said.
Players sold
Oliveira has been the focus of opposition from supporters following the sale of star players Tiago, Ricardo Rocha and Armando to SL Benfica during the past year. And despite the club's positive financial performance in 2001/02, Braga have not paid their players for over two months.
