UEFA's role in nurturing the education of football coaches takes another step forward next month.
Article body
UEFA's constant desire to nurture the quality of football on the field will be in evidence at the 13th UEFA Course for Coach Educators, which takes place in Vilamoura, Portugal from 10-14 February.
Teaching talents
The event brings together national team, club and youth coaches, national association coach directors, technical directors, football academy officials and UEFA committee members for four days of activities that will focus on the topic of teaching talented young footballers.
Appropriate training
UEFA is aware that if football's attractiveness is to endure, coaches must be given the appropriate training to do their job in preparing teams and fostering players. As a result, European football's governing body places great emphasis on high-quality and up-to-date coach education, and its courses are developed with the objective of making an essential contribution to the development of this sector.
Renowned speakers
The course in Portugal will involve practical, theoretical and working group sessions, as well as a visit to a top-level match, and UEFA is finalising an impressive list of renowned speakers and personalities to attend the event, while also drawing up a packed and interesting programme of relevant items.
Practice, theory and discussion
Planned practical sessions include topics such as the art of squad preparation, group play and technical training, while discussion groups will talk about matters ranging from the qualities required for a youth coach to national association youth coach development programmes. A number of 'live' interviews are also being lined up with course participants.
