The Montpellier Hérault SC captain Franck Silvestre is to join SC Bastia on a six-month loan with an option of making the move permanent.
Eleven caps
Silvestre, 35, trained with Bastia yesterday afternoon and will undergo a medical today. The former French international, who won eleven caps for Les Bleus, is delighted to make the switch after four years at Montpellier.
'Very happy'
"I am very happy to have chosen Bastia and I hope they can benefit from my experience," he said. "It's also nice to see other experienced players here as well, such as Lilian Laslandes."
Famous cousin
The former FC Sochaux-Montbéliard and AJ Auxerre libero, a cousin of the Manchester United defender Mickaël Silvestre, could make his debut against AS Monaco FC on Saturday.
