Article body
The Italian Football League has upheld its decision to close Como Calcio's Sinigaglia stadium for four matches following an unsuccessful appeal by the Lombardian club.
Match abandoned
The Lega Calcio stuck by their decision of last month to shut down the stadium after crowd trouble forced the Serie A match between Como and Udinese Calcio to be abandoned on 18 December.
Third penalty
The home crowd vented their anger when the referee, Massimiliano Saccani, awarded Udinese, who were leading 1-0 at the time, their third penalty of the match. With flares and other objects being thrown from the stands, the official was left with little choice but to abandon the game.
Atalanta first
Como's Serie A match against Atalanta BC on Sunday will be played at the Giglio stadium, home to Reggiana AC. The three other fixtures to be played away from the Sinigaglia will be those against AS Roma, AC Parma and Juventus FC.
Como bottom
The League upheld their decision to award Udinese a 2-0 victory, leaving them in seventh position, eight points behind leaders AC Milan. Como remain bottom of the table having not won any of their 15 matches this season.
