Scottish Premier League club Livingston FC have completed the biggest transfer coup in their history after the former FC Barcelona and Spain midfield player Guillermo Amor agreed terms at Almondvale.
'Pick of the bunch'
The 35-year-old has signed a contract until the end of the season, with an option of a further year, after spending a fortnight training with Livingston during the winter break. General manager Jim Leishman said of Amor: "Considering what he has achieved, he'll be the biggest name ever to come to Scottish football. This man is the pick of the bunch."
Numerous honours
Capped 37 times by Spain, Amor represented Barça for over a decade, winning everything on offer during that period including five Primera División championships, two UEFA European Cup Winners' Cups and, most memorably, the Catalan club's only European Champion Clubs' Cup with a defeat of UC Sampdoria at Wembley in 1992.
Partick debut?
Amor left the Camp Nou for AC Fiorentina, who are now bankrupt. He started this season back in Spain with Villarreal CF but now finds himself in Scotland, where he is expected to make his debut against Partick Thistle FC tomorrow night. Livingston currently sit third bottom of the table having picked up only 23 points from 24 games.
