Esnaider, who will turn 30 on 5 March, arrived in Corsica on Monday for medical checks and signed his contract on Tuesday, with an option for another year, Ajaccio confirmed on their website. Esnaider, who has three caps for his country, had returned to Argentina last season to play for CA River Plate but hardly got a game and wished to end his career in Europe.
Hero at Zaragoza
He has now played for eleven clubs including Juventus FC and FC Porto, although he has spent most of his career in Spain. Holder of a Spanish passport, he played for Real Madrid CF, Club Atlético de Madrid, Real Zaragoza and RCD Espanyol, and scored one of Zaragoza's goals when they defeated Arsenal FC 2-1 to win the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1995.
Second loan signing
Esnaider is the second loan signing made this month by Ajaccio, who sit 17th in the 20-team Ligue 1, following the recruitment of former French international Bernard Diomède from Liverpool FC.
