Belgian switch
The 26-year-old had spent three years in the Premier League with Floriana FC before agreeing a move to Belgian club KVK Beringen at the start of the season. However, he has now returned to play for second-placed Birkirkara.
Deal agreed
"Oba has agreed to join Birkirkara," club president Victor Zammit said upon completing the transfer in Belgium. "An agreement between the two parties has already been signed."
Mixed reaction
The news of Oba's switch led Floriana to suggest they should be compensated with a transfer fee, a claim rejected by his new employers. "I can confirm that Oba's position with his former club has been assessed thoroughly," Zammit added. "We have been assured that Floriana have no right to receive any transfer fee in return."
