Power handover in Macedonia

Members

The Prva liga in F.Y.R. Macedonia is to be run in future by the newly formed Union of Top Division Clubs.

New body
The new body was established at the weekend and the FSM will hand over all duties concerning the top flight from the restart of the 2002/03 season in March. The Union of Top Division Clubs will appoint match and disciplinary delegates for league games and take over the disciplinary watchdog's role in the Prva liga.

Ciev takes president's role
Dimitar Ciev, president of FK Sloga Jugomagnat, has been named the new union's first president and will serve an 18-month term. "I was elected as first among equals," Ciev said. "Every decision will be taken in accordance with all the clubs and for the wellbeing of Macedonian football."

More efficiency
FSM president Haralampije Hadziristeski said: "The existence of the Union of Top Division Clubs will significantly contribute to the better and more efficient functioning of the FSM."
