Ionikos FC have signed two players released by Walsall FC, while Nikos Kounenakis returns to OFI Crete FC.

Ionikos FC have signed two attacking players recently released by English first division club Walsall FC.

Portuguese forward
The 23-year-old Portuguese forward Dani Rodrigues joins on a free transfer having formerly appeared for Southampton FC, AFC Bournemouth and Bristol City FC in England, in addition to SC Farense in his homeland. He has made just one appearance this season, as a substitute on the opening day of the season.

Well travelled
Herivelto, Ionikos's second signing, is also well travelled. The 28-year-old attacking midfield player first turned out for Cruzeiro FC in his native Brazil before moving to Europe, where he has represented CS Marítimo, UD Leiria and Vitória Setúbal. After joining Walsall in 2001, Herivelto played 33 matches, scoring six goals.

Kounenakis returns
Meanwhile, OFI Crete FC, two positions above 13th-placed Ionikos in the 16-team Alpha Ethniki, have signed defensive midfield player Nikos Kounenakis on a six-month contract with an option of a further three seasons at the island club.

Anderlecht move
Kounenakis, 23, left OFI for RSC Anderlecht in 1999, staying two years in Belgium before heading to Roda JC. He was recently released by the Dutch club.
