Cukaricki coach calls it a day

Miroslav Vukasinovic has resigned as coach of Yugoslavian First League club FK Cukaricki after falling out with the board.

Vukasinovic announced his resignation only a few hours before Saturday’s impressive 3-0 away defeat of FK Rad.

Amicable split
“We simply did not agree on certain things,” he explained. “I decided to shake up the team a bit with my decision and it seems like it worked. The parting of the ways was friendly and now I intend to have a long break.”

Simovic steps in
Sports director Dragomir Spasenovic installed assistant coach Zeljko Simovic as caretaker manager of the side currently lying in 14th spot.

No rush
“We will not hurry to name a new coach,” he said. “We have one more round before the winter break and are not going to rush things.”
