Dostanic to the rescue for Obilic

Ratko Dostanic has returned to coach FK Obilic as they aim to avoid being dragged into the relegation zone.

Bulgarian adventure
Dostanic was in charge of the club until round 20 of the 2001/02 season before leaving to join Slavoljub Muslin as his assistant coach at Bulgarian champions PFC Levski Sofia.

Going solo
The two had been in charge at FK Crvena Zvezda from 1999 to 2001, but Dostanic has chosen to break their successful long-term partnership to strike out on his own and come to the rescue of his old club.

'My second home'
"I want to make work on my own," he told uefa.com. "Obilic is my second home. I admire these people and I can't say no to my boss and friend, Svetlana Raznatovic. She has had problems with the team and results, so my duty is to help now."

'Excellent players'
Dostanic, who has signed a two-year deal with the club, believes Obilic have plenty of potential despite the fact that they currently lie in eleventh place in the 18 team league. "From my information, Obilic have excellent players and they must all be given their opportunity," he said.

Peaceful vacation
Meanwhile, Raznatovic was relieved to have found the right man before the end of the winter break. "He is my favorite coach," she said. "Dostanic is a great man and he knows so many things. With him, Obilic will have order in the next two years. Now, I can go on vacations and spend the holidays in peace."

Disappointing start
The arrival of the new coach follows the resignation of Mihajlo Bosnjak after a disappointing run of results in the first half of the season. With the 18-team Prva Savezna Liga being reduced in size next season, six sides will be relegated this season - a situation which has left Obilic just four points away from the drop zone.
