Name change
Torpedo were founded in 1931, and were originally known as RDPK after the giant car factory from which they took their name. The club won the Russian title in 1960, 1965 and 1976.
Meteoric rise
Torpedo, who may now relocate to Krasnoyarsk, have finished 14th for the past two seasons after making their way from the fourth division to the top flight.
