Olympique Lyonnais took over the Ligue 1 lead with a 2-1 win against RC Strasbourg on Sunday.

Olympique Lyonnais took full advantage of OGC Nice's Saturday defeat to take over the Ligue 1 lead with a 2-1 win against RC Strasbourg on Sunday.

Juninho the creator
With Nice having lost 3-0 at CS Sedan-Ardennes, reigning champions Lyon needed victory on Sunday to move a point clear. It seemed that they could miss out when Ulrich Le Pen put Strasbourg ahead on 22 minutes. But Juninho's mazy dribble set up Peguy Luyindula to level eleven minutes later and then early in the second half the Brazilian made another goal as his free-kick was headed in by Mahamadou Diarra.

Guingamp third
En Avant Guingamp inflicted RC Lens' first home defeat of the season to move into third place, three points behind Lens. Antoine Sibierski gave Lens a 21st-minute lead, but Hakim Saci and Florent Maloud scored either side of half time and Christophe Le Roux, whose free-kick had made Guingamp's second, sealed the game in the last minute with a penalty.

Late game
AJ Axerre are up to sixth as they beat FC Girondins de Bordeaux thanks to Djibrill Cissé's 36th-minute winner. The visitors had 1998 FIFA World Cup winner Christophe Dugarry sent off in added time for a second bookable offence.
