City rivals Olimpija Ljubljana and NK Ljubljana fought out a 2-2 draw, in a match where fortunes swung sharply, to leave Olimpija top of the table.
Puc leveller
Enes Handanagic opened the scoring for title-chasing Olimpija on ten minutes when he headed in a free-kick from veteran Robert Prosinecki. Marki Kmetec, a former Olimpija player, hit a leveller when he slotted his tenth goal of the season before Ilija Kitic put the visitors 2-1 up in the 62nd minute. Despite Vladimir Kokol’s dismissal, Blaz Puc struck the equaliser 14 minutes later. Ljubljana remain fourth from bottom.
Publikum impress
Second placed NK Publikum impressed in a 4-1 defeat of NK Rudar – but stay six points behind Olimpija. Andrej Kvas put his side firmly in the driving seat by scoring the first two goals. Dragan Cadikovski also scored twice in the second half.
No problems for Koper
NK Koper despatched NK Gorica 3-0 as Argentinian striker Sebastian Vitagliano, Oliver Bogatinov and Edmund Gunjac were all on target.
Two draws
Elsewhere, NK Maribor collected a 1-0 victory against NK Korotan while NK Primorje and NK Mura matched each other blow for blow in a 3-3 draw. NK Smartno and NK Dravograd played out a 1-1 draw.
