Yugoslavian First League leaders FK Partizan recovered from exiting the UEFA Cup in midweek with a 3-2 victory against city rivals OFK Beograd, who began the weekend in second place.
Six-point lead
Zvonimir Vukic opened the scoring with an eighth-minute penalty, while Andrija Delibasic and Ivica Iliev were also on target for Partizan, who now hold a six-point advantage.
Up to second
Petar Ivanov Sopov's 73rd-minute strike was enough to seal a 1-0 win for FK Zeleznik against FK Radnicki Obrenovac. Zeleznik, who moved second and held on to that postition after OFK's defeat the next day, proved too dynamic and creative than their visitors, and their well-organised defence made goalkeeper Oliver Kovacevic virtually redundant during the full 90 minutes of play.
Crvena Zvezda on form
Vojvodina climb
Second-half goals from Milan Stepanov and Ljubisa Vukelja earned FK Vojvodina a 2-0 away victory against FK Rudar Pljevlja, allowing Cedomir Djoincevic's team to move three places up the table into sixth, as FK Cukaricki picked up their fourth win of the season against basement club FK Radnicki Niš.
Sratid held
Elsewhere, FK Sartid, struggling since Ipswich Town FC knocked them out of the UEFA Cup in the first round, were held to a goalless draw at home to FK Hajduk Kula, while FK Mogren claimed their first win of the season with a 2-1 home success against FK Javor and FK Zemun beat FK Obilic 1-0.
