FC Sochaux-Montbéliard defender Omar Daf will be out of action for six months after suffering a severe knee injury last weekend.
Knee ligament injury
The 25-year-old, who helped Senegal reach the quarter-finals of the 2002 FIFA World Cup last summer, injured ligaments in his left knee during Saturday evening's game against Paris Saint-Germain FC in the Parc des Princes stadium after being tackled by José Aloisio.
Weekend surgery
Daf is likely to undergo surgery this weekend and his absence will be a huge blow for Sochaux who have been one of the surprise packages in Ligue 1 this season. They are sixth in the table with 23 points from 14 games.
