Article body
Janez Zavrl has accepted the post of assistant coach at Greek club Olympiakos Piraeus FC.
Successor to be determined
Zavrl agreed to an offer made by new Olympiakos coach Srecko Katanec and will leave his posts as coach of the Slovenian Under-21 and Under-20 sides. His successor in these roles will be determined after a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Football Association of Slovenia.
Lemonis departure
Katanec, who took Slovenia to EURO 2000™ and the 2002 FIFA World Cup finals, was recently named the new man in charge at Olympiakos. The 39-year-old took over from Takis Lemonis, who was sacked after a series of disappointing results in Europe.
Failed to qualify
Last season's Greek champions are unbeaten after five matches in the Ethniki Katigoria, but they failed to qualify for the second group stage of the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Cup after finishing fourth in Group F in the first group stage.
