Bacau take back Dumitriu

Members

Dumitru Dumitriu has been dismissed then reinstated as coach of Romanian side FCM Bacau.

Bacau u-turn
Dumitriu had initially agreed to leave the club after talks with the Bacau board on Sunday afternoon but was reinstated 90 minutes later by club president Gheorghe Chivorchian.

'Sick of players'
Chivorchian said: "We are sick of constantly changing coaches just because the players are not doing their jobs. Anyone not working properly will be fired."

Two-year contract
Former FC Steaua Bucuresti coach Dumitriu joined Bacau in the summer on a two-year contract. But he has so far been unable to meet pre-season expectations of at least a UEFA Cup finish.

Second from bottom
Bacau lie second bottom of the first division with one win in seven games. On Saturday they lost 3-2 at home to fellow strugglers FC Argest-Dacia Pitesti.

Marin to stay
Meanwhile, FC Dinamo Bucuresti coach Florin Marin had his resignation turned down on Sunday following the 2-0 home defeat by FC Gloria Bistrita.

Dressing-room unrest
The club's board confirmed Marin's position until December despite a reported dressing-room split between established players and those Marin brought from his old club, FC Universitatea Craiova, in the summer.

Lagging behind
Defending champions Dinamo are eighth in the table, ten points behind leaders FC Rapid Bucuresti.
