Dinamo coach quits

Members

Florin Marin has resigned as coach of FC Dinamo Bucuresti for a second time this season.

Weekend of chaos
His departure came a day after the club fined the coach and his players following a chaotic weekend culminating in a televised row between Marin and Dinamo general manager Cornel Dinu.

Marin troubles
The pair clashed during a live football show, blaming each another for the team's poor start to the campaign. Saturday's 2-0 home defeat by CF Gloria Bistrita 1922 left Dinamo eighth in the table, although Marin's troubles had started before the game when several Dinamo players accused him of showing favouritism to players from his former club FC Universitatea Craiova.

Coach's 'resignation'
Marin received the immediate backing of his board, but that was not enough to convince him of the strength of his position and today he walked out on the club along with assistant Esio Gerlain. "Florin Marin left the club's training camp today, which amounts to a resignation," said Dinamo president Nicolae Badea. Cornel Talnar was promptly installed as caretaker coach.

Strained relationship
Marin had been lured back to Dinamo last month, having initially quit the post after just 26 days because of his strained working relationship with Dinu. He had been brought to the club in June from Universitatea by Gheorghe Netoiu, the former majority shareholder at the Craiova club who decamped in the summer to Dinamo along with eleven players.

Back, but not for good
Dinu, a former Dinamo player who led the club to the title in a dramatic run-in last May, took sole charge of the team until the defeat by Club Brugge KV in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers. And when neither Talnar nor Ion Moldovan could effect an upturn in fortunes, Marin was recalled on 3 September.
