Meslin, 25, has been ruled out for six months and faces surgery tomorrow after damaging the cruciate ligaments in his right knee for the second time in his career, in the 2-0 win against SC Bastia ten days ago.
Catalogue of injuries
The former Stade Rennais FC player has started seven of Nice's ten league games this term, scoring once. He suffered a similar problem two-and-a-half years ago, and also strained a ligament in the same knee last spring. Newly promoted Nice lie second in the table, one point behind AJ Auxerre, after an impressive start to the campaign.
