Russia round-up: Lokomotiv steam on

FC Lokomotiv Moskva made the most of defeats for PFC CSKA Moskva and FC Spartak Moskva at the weekend.

Title contenders PFC CSKA Moskva and FC Spartak Moskva both lost at the weekend, while leaders FC Lokomotiv Moskva edged ahead with a 2-0 home victory over FC Krylya Sovetov Samara.

Maminov double
Maminov was the hero for Lokomotiv, scoring twice to seal an important victory for the capital club. Having broken the deadlock after 32 minutes, he added a second five minutes before the break and Krylya never recovered.

Scarlett debut
Spartak slumped to a shock 2-0 home defeat against FC Saturn Moskovskaya Oblast on Saturday, as Spartak's 12-match unbeaten run came to an end. Aleksandru Rogaciov and Alexey Medvedev scored the goals for the visitors, while Jamaican international Robert Scarlett made his debut for the defending champions and Dmitri Khlestov played his first game for Spartak after a two-year spell with Beskitas JK in Turkey.

CSKA denied
Sunday's other fixtures saw CSKA lose out to FC Torpedo Moskva in a dramatic derby. Igor Semshov, Alexander Shirko and Viktor Leonchenko gave Topedo a shock 3-0 lead, but Rolan Gusev's free-kick and a goal by Elver Rahimic cut the deficit to 3-2. The army club then wasted numerous chances to equalize, denied on several occassions by in-form Torpedo goalkeeper Valery Vorobjev.

Dinamo victorious
Elsewhere, FC Dinamo Moskva recorded a 2-1 victory over FC Sokol Saratov, as Ognien Koroman and Dmitri Bulykin scored a goal apiece. Gift Kampamba scored on his debut to cancel out a strike by Rahmatullo Fusaylov, as FC Rostselmash Rostov-Na-Donu salvaged a draw for in their tie against FC Shinnik Yaroslavl.

Pelcis on target
Meanwhile, Latvian international Eriks Pelcis also scored on his debut to help FC Anzhi Makhachkala to a 2-1 victory over SC Rotor Volgograd. Budun Budunov scored for Anzhi, while captain Valery Esipov pulledone back forRotor. Andrey Ospeshinskiy and Vladimir Filippov scored in FC Uralan Elista 2-0 victory over FC Alania Vladikavkaz.
