'A big blow'
Scans confirmed that the 26-year-old former Clube Atlético Mineiro player tore a cruciate ligament in training last week. "It's a big blow," said Everton manager David Moyes. "The specialists have told us that these types of injury take two or three weeks to settle down before they know if it requires surgery. It's difficult to speculate and I'd rather wait until we have the professional outcome before we put a time limit on it."
Premiership experience
Rodrigo has made five substitute appearances in the Premiership following his €2m loan move to Merseyside from Brazilian club Botafogo FR.
