Inter not interested
The 27-year-old was reported to be one of the players Madrid were keen to include in part-exchange for new signing Ronaldo, but Internazionale FC were not interested in taking him.
Alonso deal
Racing, who won promotion back to the Primera División last season, have also agreed a loan deal for Valencia CF striker Diego Alonso, who was top scorer in the Segunda División when playing for Club Atlético de Madrid last term. A third new recruit, Brazilian midfield player Mesias Conceicao, also joined the Cantabrian club on loan before the Spanish league transfer deadline expired tonight.
