Lussenhoff, 28, described the move as an "opportunity to carry on playing at the top level, which I will try to make the most of". The teams have reached an agreement whereby Mallorca will have first option on the player at the end of the 2002/03 season. If they decide against buying him, Lussenhoff will return to Tenerife where he has just signed a contract extension.
