PFC CSKA Moscow stayed in strong contention near the summit of the Russian Premier League after a 5-1 victory at home to struggling FC Rostselmash Rostov-Na-Donu.

Kirichenko hat-trick
Dmitri Kirichenko was the star with for CSKA a hat-trick, his first goal coming after ten minutes. Arturas Fomenko put the visitors level on 21 minutes, but a second Kirchenko strike on half-time gave CSKA a lead they never subsequently lost.

CSKA increase lead
Latvian midfield player Yuris Lajzans scored CSKA's third early in the second half, Kirichenko completed his hat-trick in the 76th minute, and substitute Spartak Gogniyev made it five for the home side in stoppage time.

Rescheduled fixture
The win brings third-placed CSKA to within six points of leaders FC Lokomotiv Moscow, with two games in hand - the first on which comes on Tuesday in a rescheduled trip to their beaten Friday opponents Rostselmach, who still lie 14th.
